These dressers combine a modern classic style with the best of both contemporary & traditional techniques. A prime example of this are the drawers, where traditional dovetail joints and solid bases give the drawer the strength to hold up to 20kg in weight, whilst sliding smoothly due to the soft closing mechanism.The dresser top provides 3 moveable shelves (including a plate stand groove) and an additional moveable shelf is contained within each half of the base unit. The worktop is solid oak and the frame is made from Basswood (a derivative of the Lime Tree noted for its stability) with the casing panels being made from 18mm marine grade ply. This delivers a piece of substantial furniture weighing around 100kg that is visually beautiful & impressive whilst practical and highly useable in any home. It is hand painted in 'Limestone' coloured paint as per the rest of our range. This hand painting and waxing gives a natural finish which is so much softer and more pleasing to the eye than a machine finish, or the distressed look so often used to disguise poor quality products generally found on the high street. The turned oak handles are included within the price. (Please note there is now 1 handle in the centre of each of the two drawers). Please note that due to the span of the shelves heavy books should not be placed on the moveable shelves. Our range of bookcases should be used in this situation.
