About Haslemere

Haslemere is a superb market town set on the borders of Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex nestling between the hills of Blackdown & the Devil's Punchbowl, both of which are owned by the National Trust. Featuring a fantastic range of independent shops, great places to eat & drink and a range of accommodation for all tastes Haslemere and the surrounding area provides everything you need for a fantastic day out. Being so close to London also means that if you visit for a weekend break you can be checked in to your hotel and relaxing with a drink while everyone else is still stuck in traffic.

The less well known but staggeringly beautiful Surrey Hills offers you a choice of things to see & do. Choose from the National Trust's Petworth House with its superb gallery, to wandering across Blackdown at nearly 1000ft with amazing views to the South Downs or visit some of the gorgeous nearby villages such as Chiddingfold and Lurgashall. If you stay in Haslemere itself then browse the great range of independent shops (including Rural Living of course!) or visit the museum on the High Street which was selected by The Guardian newspaper as one of Britain's Top 20 family friendly museums.

Visit our links page for websites featuring ideas, accommodation, places to eat and fantastic walks in the area.

We spend a lot of time out and about in Britain and recommend that you get to know this relatively undiscovered area.
